Changes of the European labour market as a consequence of the COVID-19 crisis
The Covid-19 epidemic has significantly affected the economic and social situation worldwide. Restrictions announced by the governments of individual countries aimed at stopping the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus consequently led to the freezing of much economic activity.
Overview
The crisis caused by the Covid-19 epidemic posed an economic threat, not only to the economies of individual countries but also to the global world economy due to trade links between countries and global supply chains. The Covid-19 pandemic has caused numerous changes in terms of the structure of employment or the performance of certain jobs.
The labour market is still measuring itself primarily against the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, and individual countries have introduced programs to support entrepreneurs and workers who have struggled with the effects of the crisis. Young people are among those most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic socially. They are also the best equipped to deal with the rapid transition to virtual environments, which the pandemic has triggered.
